About Black Desert's Eternal Winter Expansion

In Eternal Winter, Black Desert's newest expansion, players will venture into unknown lands and ascend to the peak of the Mountain of Eternal Winter in search of the Ynix, the Holy Flame.

Explore a new snowy region in search of the Holy Flame Ynix to vanquish Illezra, overcome the ancient rites of passages left in the region by its ancient protectors and assist the people of ‘Eilton’ in unearthing forgotten knowledge as you battle the elements themselves to reach the peak of the mountain. Meet Lando, the chatty snow fox that will offer you advice and assistance on your journey, and Jordine Ducas, a long-lost foe in search of the very same power you seek.

We’re also introducing a new player class, the descendant of a dragon who sets enemies ablaze. 

New gameplay features:

● New region: Mountain of Eternal Winter, a snowy region full of ice and magic hiding immense power within.
● New quests: A brand-new questline that will test players’ mettle and skills

● New player hub: Eilton, a settlement tucked away in the rugged mountain slopes

● New starting experience: Players can start levelling from level 1 in the Mountain of Eternal Winter region

● New life skill activities: Ice fishing and Snowboarding

● New endgame locations: Murrowak’s Labyrinth, Winter Tree Fossil and Jade Starlight Forest

● New boss: Erebjork, a new boss equipped with a massive ice axe and shield
● New mount: Alpaca, an exclusive mount for the Shai class!

Additional notes:

● Mountain of Eternal Winter is Black Desert’s first new player starting zone since launch, and the levelling experience gives players an introduction to the lore and world of Black Desert

● The Eternal Winter expansion features fully rendered cutscenes

● This expansion is suitable for players who feel overwhelmed entering an MMORPG with years of content in it

Build Access information
You can already download the preview build from our Global Lab and login with the account information, once you receive it from keymailer. You will have access from the 31st of March from (04:00 CEST) up until the 6th of April, but the client can be downloaded beforehand so you have all things ready. If we have maintenance in our test server, we’ll inform you here. 

We have setup two character builds of our new class, a level 1 character for you to try out the new region as a starting player, and a level 63 character with proper gear that allows you to experience different types of end-game content within a relatively short time.

We are confident that you will have a polished experience, but please bear in mind that you might encounter small localisation issues or bugs as we are still in the quality assurance process of this expansion. 

You are free to capture, stream or report on anything you encounter and there is no embargo. We do however kindly request you to notify your community beforehand if you choose to show story related spoilers.
